# How You Run Matters

BACKGROUND

The Athlete Development Academy LLC, our story,

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to check out my profile. This is my story of pursuing a passion and a way of life.

I am a biomechanics coach. One of the greatest gifts I can give an athlete is to teach them how to move freely and efficiently. It’s much more fun that way and less painful.

I grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia. When 6 years old I started training with the Russian Basketball Olympic Feeder Program. In 2000 we moved to the U.S., and let’s just say I stuck out like a sore thumb. I was 13 and 6 feet tall, and I didn’t speak any English. Basketball was my safe place; no language barrier, no awkwardness, just some good ol’ butt-kicking. I earned a full basketball scholarship to play at Marquette University, and it became home for the next 6 years. I am forever thankful for the sport and the people and opportunities that it has brought into my life, and I’d love to pay it forward. After MU with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy, I set off to save the world, or so I thought.

My career has had a long winding path over the last 11 years. But I keep coming back to my love for sports and the understanding of the human body. I’ve discovered the secret to pain-free, efficient movement and would love to share it with you. That secret is Gravity. A great thanks to Dr. Nicholas Romanov and my director mentor, Tracy Peal, for their incredible work over the years. I truly feel that after being a D1 athlete, and a physical therapist, they were the missing piece in my understanding and growth as a coach and a clinician.

I love meeting new people, learning, teaching, coaching, and growing. I’d love to connect, so please reach out if I can be of any help.

Sincerely, Dr. Lana
