In the video below,  you will learn how to jump again after ACL surgery. I cover the proper form and technique for jumping with two feet and one foot. Learning how to land on one foot with proper mechanics is extremely important for safe return to sport.

Learn how to progress from the most basic jumping to more complex, in order to start getting you game-ready.

The rules should be a carryover from the squatting mechanics and the same rules apply whether you are jumping on one foot or both feet:

  • Land softly
  • Land on your toes and sit back into your heels
  • Stick your butt back like you are sitting back into a chair
  • Soft bend in your knees for at least 30 degrees
  • Don’t let your knee cave in
  • Your trunk and your hips should stay in mid line

Check out this video for more information. 80% of ACL injuries are non-contact and happen during an awkward single leg land or cutting motion. So while it is imperative to learn how to jump again after ACL surgery. Learning how to land on one leg is even more important.

Notice that they are all the same rules as with squatting, except you don’t need to get your butt as low as the squat.

Please check out the squatting technique post and video, if you haven’t done so already or need a review.
